Of course when going to lapland we traveled next to kemi and there is the snow castle. We where there early and so we had to wait 30 min before they opened the castle. Our expectations where to high for this year, they couldn’t manage to make the castle like we have seen a few years ago. Never the less we enjoyed our visit to Kemi but returned quickly to our car se we could continue our trip to Yläs.

We could ofcourse not forget to go to Kalajoki. Although it’s wintertime the snow is already melting away. We could see sand on the beach, that was something we didn’t expect. Check the more link to see the pictures

Took a long time again to update the website.
Came back from the 4 cities trip. Photo’s can be found here.
We started in Kuopio for the ski jumping. It was minus 10 degrees celsius.
It was a nice to see the skijumping but it was really cold. standing 3 or 4 hours in the same place. brrr, but it was fun 
After the skijumping we went to the ‘passion club’ to warm up again.
The next morning we left Kuopio for the next city called Tampere. we did some sightseeing. Found a nice frozen lake with a nice view.
The next stop is Helsinki. We took the train from Tampere quite early to catch the ferry in Helsinki to Tallinn.
It was very windy and snowing hard in Helsinki, so we didnt really had time to see the city. The ferry crossing was really hard.
Tallinn was a really nice city. It has some old historic buildings wich was nice too see. We’ve spent there 2 days, seen allot of building/church’s and other historic places.
Celebrated my birthday there which was a nice.
When we came home from our trip, we put the own made cider into the beer bottles. Took us few hours to get the 24 liters bucket empty. The taste is quite nice I have to say. Its a nice drink to start the evening with
On wednesday we had a sportday organised by the university. We made a team: Me, Evert, Rinze and Lieven, but we needed a few more players. So we asked 3 greek guys to join us. We lost every match but we made a few points, due to the mistakes of the other team 
Nevertheless it was good fun!
After the volleyball I went with my brother and his girlfriend and Lieven to a icehockey match in Oulu. Karpat vs Ilves. Karpat won with 7-1. It was really a nice atmosphere with enthuasiastic karpat fans. After the icehockey match we returned to Ylivieska for the sport day after party in Vieska. I need to put some photo’s online still, gonna do that after posting this message.

So today the day of sports not only playing a volleyball tournament but also visiting Kärpät in Oulu.

So we finally went on our promised vacation to Finland. We drove in the ealry morning to Bremen in Germany to fly with Ryanair to Tampere Finland. We checked out Tampere and of course to give you an impression there are here some pictures.

A quick message from me before I go to bed. Tomorrow moring we will take the train from 7:30 to Kuopio and arrive at 3pm. We got a few hours left before the World Skijumping starts at 6pm.
The next days will we visit Tampere and Helsinki and Tallinn (Estonia). So there are no updates the next 5 days. We hope to be back on sunday evening.
There are some new pictures online. From yesterday barbeque evening. Something different: Our food or Canteen food I’ll try to get a photo every day of our lunch at the University!

So, I’ve found some time to write another story. I did some research in how Microsoft Robotics Studio works and how to use it properly. I went through some tutorials and tried to understand how the code works behind each ‘block’. This week I will talk with Mika and agree about the project goals.
Food: At the university you can have lunch for 2,30 euros. For the amount of food you can dish up its pretty good. It’s a surprise everyday what we get. Although the cooked potatoes are there every time. (Something Dutch 
). It might be fun to photograph each dish each day. Then we can remember what we ate on a specific day.
Cider: I started the cider last week. I’ve added a bit more sugar on wednesday and yesterday. It started to bubble again although I think it might be on the cold side in the bathroom. So the bucket is wrapped in a blanket which I hope to keep warm/hot the next couple of days.
I think i’ve forgoten the other things that happened last week. Watched the movie ‘The Prestige’, made a snowman. Went to the sauna and from there going outside were it was snowing Oh almost forgot I can count to 10 in Finnish Yksie, kaksie…
